Post 5: Changes to my Study Programme

To begin with, I´ll say nice things about my study programme. I like the fact that we have a lot of subjects related to chemistry and labs. I also like the length of my career, I know that 11 semesters sound heavy, but compared to others careers I think that is enough (and time pass flying). But on the other hand, there are a lot of things that I disagree with:

- Credit system. Usually, the credits of the subjects are accorded to their workload, but that doesn´t apply to all the subjects. For example, the subject "Fisiología de Sistemas" has only 4 credits but its workload feels like it had 5 credits, because is a very complex subject (you have to understand all the systems of your body, all the parts that make up our organism and all their complicated names). Besides, we have classes of this subject just once a week, so I think that´s a lot of content for a little time.

- Teachers. I think that some teachers have good teaching methods, they care about your learning, they want you to enjoy the process and they are kind too. That doesn´t apply to all the teachers because some of them are mean: they don´t care if you can´t understand the class or if you have troubles. They just care about themselves and I think that´s totally wrong, because that negativity is transmitted to the students and we get stressed. So, I think it would be so helpful if all the teachers were kind (or at least understand us).

- Faculty facilities. If I´m honest, I complain almost everyday about the buildings in the faculty. During test periods, it´s so hard to get a room for studying because they´re always taken! I would like the faculty had new places for studying because they´re necessary (and more with the heat of these days 😭). I would also like there were more comfortable chairs in classrooms (I know there are in some classrooms, but not in all of them), and in my case, I need left-handed chairs. And, talking about classrooms, they are so small. How do you do a class with 250 students in a classroom? That´s insane.

Post 4: A Time Travel to the Future

Time travelling... that´s such an interesting and complicated topic.

If I could go to the future, I would like to go to a moment where I have grown up. In this moment, I don´t know if I want to go to a time in particular, but if I had to be specific, I would go to 2040, maybe. It doesn´t matter the place because I only want to know what it would be my life in that moment (and the life of people I know too).

Did I meet new people? Did I finish my current career? What about my plans? What about my family? Did I get over my actual fears? Where will I be living, and who with? Did I meet my goals? There are so many questions that I would ask to the future me if I met him.

Although it would be awesome to time travel, I wouldn´t like to stay there for a long time because I want answers in this moment (just for being curious), and also, the future is the future so one day it will come. Besides, I want to live my life in the present because I´m used to be here with the people I appreciate and love, I have a lot of things to do, and I think that we are here in this time for a purpose too.

Obviously, I´m curious of the things that will happen around the whole world, but now I´m interested in my life (not being selfish hahaha).

Post 3: My Dream Job

Hi! What´s your dream job?

When I was a kid I wanted to work teaching, probably teaching maths (because I liked that subject and it was easy for me in that moment), but when I grew up I realized that it´s hard to me to relate with people, so that dream went down. In high school I discovered what chemistry was, and since then, I have wanted to work in laboratories ❤❤.

When I imagine working in labs, I always feel joy because you can do a lot of things (such as experiments, synthesize chemical compounds and use them for reactions!). In a near future, I will have the skills to work in my dream job due to the career that I´m studying now (Chemistry and Pharmacy), but honestly, I had no idea about the salary that you get paid for working there.

For working in labs, you can study another major that involves its skills, but each major has its specialty (in my case, you can make medicaments and even discover new ones 💊). However, you must know how to work with the material and its function, for example using flasks, pipettes and test tubes.
Besides, you must know how to react in case of emergencies (in case if you get burnt with some acid or something else!). And last but not least, you must have discipline and be organized, you can´t do an experiment if you have a mess in your work area.

To sum up, I think it´s very important for everyone to work in something that makes them happy, because it would be sad if you don´t like your job.

Post 2: The Best Concert Ever

Hi! Have you ever seen a concert?

Sometimes, I remember the first concert I saw. It was in September 2018 and Javiera Mena was the headliner at Teatro Caupolican. She presented the release of her newest album (in that moment), Espejo, and when I listened to it for the first time I wanted to see her performing. I enjoyed the concert a lot because I was almost at the barrier, so I saw it all clearly. It was awesome!

One of my favorite moments was the ending, when she performed "Espada" and I love that song. While the song was playing, there were laser lights shouting to the audience and everyone was singing and jumping (I screamed my lungs out too hahaha).

There was a support band too: Marineros. I started listening to their music just to see them performing the day of the concert. When that day came, I was so excited because I realized that I was going to see two artists instead of just one (as I thought it would be when I bought the ticket).

Despite I saw Javiera with a classmate, I will be mainly thankful with my friend that introduced me to her music ❤. Unfortunately, I didn´t take photos or recorded anything of the concert (😭), but I found some photos on internet that showed how it was. 🎇🎇

Post 1: A country I would like to visit

Hi! I always wanted to visit any country in Europe, but now I would like to go to Sweden.

This country is very cold, most of the year is practically winter ❤; for this, the nights are longer, summer is less hot that in Chile, and also, you can see auroras in the sky!

Sweden is a safe country, and that´s the main reason of why I would like to go there. You can go almost everywhere using a bike or a scooter, because there are bikeways in the streets. Discrimination isn´t usual here, because Swedish people accept a lot of communities (like women or LGBTI+ community) and they are all respected. Yet this doesn´t count for resident foreigners because it´s so difficult to get a place where to live or get a job.

One thing that I find interesting about this place is Midsommar, but not like the horror movie. It´s a celebration for the begginning of summer in June 21st (and also, the shortest night of the year). People get together, specially in parks, to spend time dancing, making decorations with flowers (for example, flower crowns) and eating strawberry pie. 🍓
